Sarah on a mountain. Left behind with Cameron, the women who are already warriors. The boys are going out into the woods to bond, to run with wolves and become men. John needs to become a soldier. It's going to happen sooner or later. Watching Sarah negotiate the necessities of the timeline against her son's childhood is proving fascinating. Last season it was all about John holding on to his childhood, demanding, in the way of all children, that his mother put him first. In John's case, he wants to come first before the human race, to be protected against the vagaries of the life that he is dreaming.

In other news, I have completely given up on Heroes. I'm lost. I don't get the retcon. I don't WANT to get the retcon.
In additional news, I love how the guys jump into each others arms after a touchdown. I mean, full on, Hooray jumps and they expect the other guy to catch them. And they always do. Teams! I love you, man!

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles 2.3
Sep. 23rd, 2008 11:34 pmWe've got all of these models of womanhood wandering around this season:
Sarah, Riley, the hippie Earth mother next door, Michelle, even Cameron and Weaver are approximations of gender.

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles 2.02
Sep. 15th, 2008 09:32 pmThe first thing that comes to my mind with that title is R.E.M.'s album that included one of my favorite R.E.M. songs, the appropriately emo titled Everybody Hurts. I don't think that reference is the point of the episode and if anyone else has a reference for the title of the episode I really need to hear it because I got nothing.
I found the episode pretty confusing. It seems like alot of stuff is being introduced, questions being asked but nothing is getting resolved or answered.
Random, disjointed thoughts, ahoy!

There was mucho info to process. I don't have anything clever or interesting to add. Maybe later this week, if I can scrounge the time, I'll rewatch it.
( Briefly and off the top of my head )
So, yeah. Terminator. PLEASE be back next season!!!

Random rambling and (not quite) bullet points.
-- Cameron and Sarah continuing to mirror each other, foils and control groups. The places where Cameron fails, attempting to inact humanity (learning to dance) but that impulse ultimately being trumped by programming (abandoning the Shipkov's), and where Sarah succeeds (saving Ellison) but also ultimately fails (signing away her parental rights -- a failure for John).

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles 1.6
Feb. 19th, 2008 12:09 amI'm not sure about the backstory. It smacks of retcon even though we don't really know what happened in the future, especially not this future since we know that it's been changed. Jonathan Jackson is way too young and way too babyfaced to play Kyle Reese, wtf.
