There was mucho info to process. I don't have anything clever or interesting to add. Maybe later this week, if I can scrounge the time, I'll rewatch it.
- Yay la nina! The latina homegirl is back and I totally love her.
- What in the what?! Is it possible that one must experience a Terminator to be a true believer? Of course! With all of what Sarah has said, and crazy Dr. Silberman, how in the world could Ellison have possibly believed that he could take a SWAT team of human people in to capture what, I know he suspects, to be a Terminator. What the Hell? Although, I am very glad that they didn't kill Agent Ellison or Charlie (because I was very worried for both).
- I am unclear as to why Ellison was left alive. As one of the officers leading the charge, I would think he'd be tagged as a threat and disposed of with the rest of the brigade. Is it possible that he may have something to do with SkyNet's creation, no matter how peripherally? or is he an unknown quantity just not worth eliminating?
- Cameron!! Asked to the prom and with the car and the body in the trunk. She continues to be creepy, but I love her. I especially love that she lies because AWESOME -- and possibly not in a good way. Still ... Awesome.
- Derek. Damn, man, twisted much? But also kinda creepy, sweet uncle moment when he took John to the park on his birthday so that he could see his dad. His FIVE year old Dad, but still his Dad all the same. AWWWWW.
- Love the brief comment on the kick ass of the girls. "Why are the girls in there and the boys out here."
- Vick and the chip were really disturbing. My theory is that they killed her husband and replaced him with a Terminator because the marital issues don't sound like they cropped up until after she started working on the Transit project. So, perhaps, Terminators aren't as capable of infiltrating the population as one might suppose. There are warnings, markers to indicate that something isn't right. Apparantly, they are also fully functioning. *wink wink nudge nudge*
- Yes, I am being crass.
- I'm excited that personality versus programming have been addressed at least peripherally. It's what I've been thinking of, especially in light of Demon Hand. SkyNet is the big concern, not the Terminators. The Terminator's, the Robots, only do as they are programmed, they are thinking and learning, but do they ever learn to think for themselves? There is a level of implied conciousness in Cameron that I'm curious about. Her dancing, the birthday question, "is that a bad thing to say" as opposed to incorrect. She's using value judgements, although we still can't say if she's just emulating or actually developing human understanding. Is it possible that she can develop that level of awareness. If SkyNet can and did, could the Terminator's? Would SkyNet, paranoid computer that it is, create processor's less advanced then itself in order to prevent it's own obsoletion.
- John. Cameron's soullessness. You don't have to trust it, trust me. Although, I can't remember if he said it or her. Obviously, for all of his talk, he's still on some level thinking of Cameron on a personalized level. Re: stroking her face and hair.
- Cameron's wink. Continue to be creepy, my lovely.
- How are they going to beat up, my girl? Will her skin be missing? Will she be all super nuclear nails girl, now? How are they going to reconstruct her epidermal layer? How? How? How? Are Charlie and Ellison going to team up now? How will Ellison, religious man that he is, interpret the result of his pre-emptive strike on evil? That's a lot of blood on his hands. He's been dragged into that battle, forced to ask the same questions that Sarah asks: how many deaths are too many? The terms of the show itself revolve, in part, around ideas of how to enact war. Do we become our enemies? Is victory acceptable, demanded, by any means necessary?
So, yeah. Terminator. PLEASE be back next season!!!

or is he an unknown quantity just not worth eliminating?
I don't think a Terminator thinks like that. Pretty much everything is worth eliminating unless it has some value to you. I thought maybe Ellison would have some connection to SkyNet. I also hoped it could be something like...the Terminator is developing some sort of personality beyond his programming, too--like Cameron seems to be doing--and he didn't kill Ellison because he recognized Ellison as someone who will dig and dig and dig until he finds answers. So it's a sort of challenge. He WANTS Ellison to come after him. I hope it's something like that.
Derek. Damn, man, twisted much?
I know, right? I ship Derek with like, everyone, not because I like him but because his relationships with everyone are SO SCREWED UP. Derek/Sarah. Derek/John. Derek/Dixon. Derek/Derek.
Apparantly, they are also fully functioning. *wink wink nudge nudge*

BUT YOU KNOW WE WERE ALL WONDERING!!!
It is going to be back!
I thought that scene with all the FBI guys falling into the pool while that music was playing was AWESOME.
Thanks again for giving me a chance to talk.

I would be surprised if it were something that nuanced or personal. I definitely think that your first supposition is probably the case, Ellison affects SkyNet in some way. So far, personality has been continually trumped by programming so it Cromartie's response to Ellison has to do with something that occurs in the future. Some way that he affects a change.
I'm excited for SCC to come back. WAY more excited than I am at the return of Heroes. It might be because Heroes is a much longer time ago or that Heroes lost me over the course of last season. I don't know!!
Anyhow, I'm glad that you're watching the show because YAY for your shiny brain.
