To close out the year, as I know that many of you are reading fic during holiday, I give you my short list of 2004's best fic. The best fic I read this year, anyway. This was not my biggest year in fic reading, so I'm sure I've missed lots. In fact, my links are waaay out of control. We'll do better next year. In the meantime, enjoy! And rec me what I've missed.

This list is in no particular order and I warn you that some weren't actually written in '04, that's just when I read them.

It was easy to do. Fanged Four is AWESOME and amazing. The original rec was as follows:

This is hot, steamy and vividly written. Gorgeous language, lush and lyrical. Kita weaves words together into tight tapestries that burn in the mind. It's insane, decadent and perverted. I love it! My favorite section was the first one and with lines like this how could it not be: In the pain she is lucid and Angelus fancies he can see the cracks in the porcelain of her skin mending, hot blown glass bubbling and spinning to make itself whole.

It's also the official rec at EFD. My resolution for the New Year, again, regards sending feedback.
