Drabble: Angel - No Tomatoes (for tha wrecka)

For thawrecka. Very late birthday request for a Connor/Fred drabble fulfilled. Mostly. Well, not really. It's mostly Fred. Anyway. Happy Belated. Again.



Title: No Tomatoes
A/N: set during Deep Down
Summary: You're always hungry.


Fred spreads mayonnaise laced with disappointment across a slice of white bread. The barest smidge of mustard spiced with a feeling of profound lost follows. She piles the bread high with layers of bologna and the finest rage. No tomatoes, just a sprinkle of salt and her vitriol leaked out onto the sandwich unchecked.

A sandwich for Connor. A snack for her baby because that's what he is now that Cordy and Angel are gone. *Her* baby.

"You have been *such* a bad boy," Fred says softly as she cuts the sandwich in half, on the diagonal just like her mom used to do.

When Fred goes upstairs, Gunn is standing near Connor's bedroom door. As she passes him, plate in one hand, she takes the taser he offers and slides it into the waistband of her jeans.

Connor is *such* a naughty boy, but mama's gonna make him pay.

Not really. It's actually pretty craptacular but thanks for the kind words. What I really wanna do is a dustjacket for World in Her Teeth. I've got an idea! that might just be fabulous.
