Okay, so I've kinda been away doing school and work and wedding coordinating. I understand that the world doesn't stand still while I'm busy with other stuff, but still ...


You guys, so, what's a prompt table and how do I use it?


Plus, I'm going to need a beta soon. Any volunteers?

A prompt table does what it says on the tin, sorta. You get a table of prompts, like so (this is a real prompt table from 100_situations, just FYI):



You use each word as a prompt to write a single story. (e.g, "Blood" might be a story about the psychic bond between Angel and Drusilla created by their sire/childe blood connection.) As you write each story, you edit the prompt's text in the table to a link to the story you wrote for that prompt. (So "Blood" would be a link to the blood story, "Sushi" would be the link to the sushi story, and so on.) ...did I explain that very well? ::handwrings::

What fandom are you thinking you're going to do? My beta schedule's currently wide open. :-)

Thanks for the tutorial! I saw a dark!fic prompt table challenge. I'll have to go back and find it.The tables are MUCH smaller than this one, but I was intrigued. Unfortunately, I'm pretty positive that I won't have time to do it now, unless I do drabbles only. I have a fic due for the IWRY marathon that I need to finish cleaning up by next week, and then I have the outline for a fic that I want to write for NaNoWriMo. So, there goes my October and November. "lj user="tkp" has agreed to do beta on the IWRY piece, but I can ALWAYS use another pair of eyes. The NaNo fic ... well, I'm debating on how to get that beta'd. I was thinking of sending out the first half by the 15th and then then last half by the end of the month. I'm not sure if that plan will work, either, though.
