"What happens when a robot designed to be a boy’s ideal “companion” develops a will of her own?"

The premise was interesting, reminded me a little of the movie Cherry 2000. The only thing that I didn't care for was the abruptly and incompletely resolved ending. ** spoiler alert **  )

This book read like a blockbuster movie of the week. I can see the options, now. Although, not as engaging as Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan, The Girl in the Steel Corset filled my jonesing for some YA steampunk. It felt a little too paint-by-numbers in places, and I admit to skimming through some sections, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I only wish that we had gotten more of Jack Dandy. He is definitely my FAVORITE part of this novel. I like Finley and the potential for what she could be. Her issues were largely resolved a little too pat, I would have liked her darkness to have been explored a lot more. Now, I'll definitely read the next book, because I was just interested enough. I can only hope and PRAY that Jack gets included in the adventure.
