I really have no idea WHY I like this novella. In terms of execution, it ranks right up there with Twilight and Fifty Shade of Gray. But the author manages to create interesting, sexy characters, AND she makes me interested in their story as individuals and as a couple.

From Goodreads: "African American Charlene Alfred, a 41-year-old writer is about to have her first best selling novel "Blu's Diary" turned into an internationally released miniseries which features a jaded Japanese rock star that has hit rock bottom. Her manager gives her an ultimatum: use the Japanese lead actor of their choice or forget the project. When 24-year-old Japanese pop sensation known as "Kane" hears that the writer he's always admired, strongly believe he's too young for the crucial role, he makes it his mission to change her mind; only to find that there is a connection between him and this woman that defies all reasoning and logic."

Okay, so I've been on this interracial romance kick since my BFF's sister got me hooked on kdramas and then recommended J-Pop Love Song. It defies logic. It's pretty crappy and I wouldn't accept the quality if I were to walk into a brick and mortar store. But Amazon has all of these cracktastic books for Kindle at low, low prices, so I buy them. I am shamed.

J-Pop Love Song gets a little convoluted and way cheesy in the end, but it's my crack. I read it and loved it. I'm still baffled by exactly why. Of course, it's also insanely refreshing to read an uncommon pairing. It is DESPERATELY in need of an editor. There are alot of inconsistencies, clunky grammar, and errors that could easily be cleaned up.

Still, yeah ... I kinda loves it, precious.
