The Crazy Jamaican, who has been my best friend since we were nine (officially 20 years ago this month), gave me the best anniversary gift ever!
A red tea kettle!!!
It is so super shiny!
AND
It whistles at me. It whistles!!
I am so tickled and pleased because I am not a person who gets many gifts. For some reason people don't think me=gifts. In fact I'm usually so pleased at the *thought* of gifts that I've been known to talk people out of giving them to me because well!! I'm just totally over the moon that anyone even *considers* giving me anything just because!!!
CJ said, she figured as much (see that 20 year history thing) and so she didn't tell me she was getting me anything. Just surprised me. With a red tea kettle of all things! Which is TOTALLY something I've always wanted but would probably never buy for myself because well, a pot will boil water just as well And a shiny red tea kettle would be just so impractical.
Only, well, she's my bestest friend ever and obviously there's a reason for that AND now, I have a super dooper shiny, brand-spanking new, WHISTLING tea kettle.

I was so excited! We had a nice dinner and toasted each other and, well, it was swell. AND THEN she gives me a shiny, red, whistling tea kettle.
