So, basically what you're telling me is that
chrisleeoctaves is the only one who likes
glossing's fic.
I mean, she's the ONLY one who responded to my request for
glossing recs.
I'm surprised. Shocked even. But hey. Okay.

Date: 2005-12-08 07:29 am (UTC)From:I don't know what pairings or characters you like, but here are some of my favorite fics of hers. There's a bit of a tilt towards Giles/Oz because it's my favorite pairing, but I tried to pick a variety of things.
De Loquente Carne (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/jasmine/splash.html), Wesley/Connor, Jasmine/Dawn, various others. An AU set in a world "saved" by Jasmine. (If you use IE, the index pages to this may look a little funny. If you highlight the left margins, the missing text will appear. Once you get to the actual stories you can see everything fine.)
Scenes from the Floating World (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/sushi.html). Giles/Oz, with sushi.
Mono/Chrome (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/whitealbum.html). An Oz/Giles (and Oz/Willow) drabble sequence. This is part of a larger series of Oz/Giles stories, but all you need to know is that Giles and Oz were together during Giles' first year in Sunnydale, but then Oz broke up with Giles on account of the lycanthropy. Sad, but gorgeous.
Signs and Tokens (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/signs.html). Giles/Ethan, Giles/Remus Lupin, Giles/Oz. Well worth reading even if you don't like crossovers or Harry Potter. It does amazing, non-jokey things with Giles' librarianship and his fondness for cross-referencing.
Human and not wholly human, writ by the finger of the Divine (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/indiaoz.html). Exquisite Oz gen, set in India.
(In)Frequently Asked Questions About All Hallows MOO, by Jenny Calendar (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/ahmfaq.html). Jenny Calendar, Oz, and the things that can happen with computers in Sunnydale. An absolutely amazing fic.
Theses on a Philosophy of Power (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/bolshevik.html). Original characters--this is a "tales of the slayers" fic set during the Russian revolution.
Hope you enjoy! And after you've read these, you might as well read the rest of them. They're all fine stories.

Date: 2005-12-08 03:11 pm (UTC)From:Be No Flower (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/benoflower.html) - Post NFA. Just amazing imagery, symbolism, metaphors, even if you squick at B/A, B/O, A/O, or B/A/O (it has it all), it's just a beautifully scripted fic. As always Gloss writes B/O, with B/A always hanging in the background.
Dear to Us (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/deartous.html) B/A, R. Post Chosen. I *adore* this fic. Because it's a B/A friendship fic, and you it's as painful as it sounds. The air is so thick with tension and longing, it's such a simple fic, but it's so much more than that.
Let Me Alone () B/A, PG 13. Post Damage. More of a character study I guess you would say, although all of her fic seem like that. But it's a such a powerful fic, and Gloss's description Angel watches Buffy for the last time; as Job said to God, "thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:so that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life." Set just after 5.11, "Damage". Is a good one, so ya.
Mystery Play (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/mysteryplayI.html) B/A, NC17. Hard. Wow, just such a beautiful fic. This is how I see B/A. So much love, so much pain. It's tense, beautiful, erotic and everything in between. This is as good as it gets for them.
Small Illuminated Dying Things (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/bao.html) A/O, B/A, B/A/O. NC 17. The thing I love about Gloss, is that she writes all these crazy pairings and she makes them work. She makes it believable that A/O would get togeher, but then she never ever forgets about B/A.
Experiments with Normal (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/experimentswithnormal.html) B/O PG 13. How and why B/O got together. It's just...amazing how Gloss writes Oz, as if she IS him.
Heterosexual Lesbians (http://www.exitseraphim.net/glossings/hetlesbians.html) B/O, NC17. Read it for the sole fact that it was B/O. They hang out lots *G*. Pretty much a PWP.

I adore her style and willingness to take risks. She is one of my favorite writers in the fandom. I'm hard pressed to pick a 'best of' but I'll rec 3 of my all-time favorites from a pairing that's so unusual and 'right' that it's...well...perfectly odd: Angel/Oz.
