Pigskin and I were having one of our whirlwind around the world and every subject discussions and briefly touched on the joy of recognition and appreciation. With that firmly in mind, I would like to extend warm fuzzies and admiration:
(in no particular order)
jennyo for all of the awesome fic, Buffy and Angel. She wrote Story Endings O. Henry Didn't Use in answer to a fic wish I made and it is mighty, mighty fine. I am inspired, always, by Yarnspinning, Displaced, The Truth Is, Kitchen and Ursula. I re-read these five stories for pleasure, inspiration and for maintaing the mood when I write.
jennyo also gives good spec and analysis. I am in awe.
jennyo, you are appreciated.
moonwhip is always willing to be my beta. She's quick, she's honest and she is an amazing writer. When I wrote The Downfall of Angels I read and re-read Last Words and Blueprint to find the mood, the tone and to help me hone the language I wanted to use. She is generous, gives great fic reccs and is a superwoman, to boot.
moonwhip is currently writing a novel, taking Chinese, as well as working and maintaining a very dedicated gym schedule. I have a hard time just getting out of bed.
moonwhip, you are admired and adored.
thebratqueen is intelligent beyond the telling of it. I'm a recent convert to the cult of TBQ and I bow down before her ability to break it down, shine it up and make it all make sense. Concise, insightful, imaginative and open.
thebratqueen, you are appreciated.
Touchstone is an amazingly generous, sweet, talented person. She makes beautiful art, sends beautiful gifts and fandom is lucky to have her. I requested a custom made dustjacket for The Downfall of Angels and the result was fantastic. Better than anything I could have imagined or come up with on my own. Touchstone, you are adored.
moireach writes some of the best stories ever! Beautiful language, gorgeous imagery and insightful beyond the telling. They are gems. Girls Grow Quicker Than Books reminded me of how much I loved The Chronicles of Narnia. While the Body Is sparked a heartfelt appreciation for Amy. A Girl with Kaleidoscope Eyes was my first Kyra fic and I was hooked from then forward.
moireach, you are admired.
dafnap is the Queen of the manipulation and a damn fine writer. Her fanart is gorgeous. Original, creative and beautifully rendered. I am boggled by her work. I am also crushed every time I read The Anniversary. I was privleged to beta her Five Things Lilah/Wesley fic and heartrending just doesn't quite cover it. She's quirky, friendly, warm and hilarious good fun. She's also cute as a damn button.
dafnap, you are adored.
suelac is an amazing writer, fan wise and in real life. I don't know her personally, but she seems to me to be a wacky intelligent kick-ass girl. I love that she climbs mountains. She's amazing with the meta and then she writes things like The Money-Changer's Tale and Those Who Favor Fire. I haven't read Written on a Thumbnail because it's long and I'm scared, but I'm getting there.
suelac, you are admired.
diva_stardust is probably one of the most adorable things in fandom. Honest, bubbly, even when she's cranky, and chock full o' warmth and welcome. She makes me laugh insanely and then she goes off and writes amazing fic like Until the Blood Stops and the Spike/Dawn seasons pieces.
diva_stardust, you are appreciated.
maayan is probably the most brilliant person that I will never meet. This chick blows my mind constantly. There aren't words enough. She reduces me to Original Fangirl status. I comment at her blog and try my damndest not to embarrass myself. She'll make you smile but more often than not she'll break your heart and make you cry. Fulfledged member of the Dark Brigage,
maayan is the Queen of dark!fic, it hurts so good. She wrote the first fanfic I ever read. She's my standard to measure all Farscape fic and she is also the reason that I won't ever be writing Farscape. Because, dude, with Maayan around . . . But just to say that Maayan, you are admired.
mpoetess wrote Sealed with a Kiss and A is For . . . and that is enough to get an extension of the warm fuzzies from me.
mpoetess, you are appreciated.
diachrony is another one of the warm and welcoming folks I've met in LJ-land. She comes to play in my sandbox regularly and it's always a good time. Thank you, dearest, for being you. And thank you for the funnest of fun links. Micheal Jackson and the Beanie Baby guy provided hours of horror, fascination and belly laughs.
diachrony, you are adored.
kita0610 started the Five Things Challenge for which I will be eternally thankful. She also wrote Five Things That Never Happened to Spike and Equinox among other things, and that makes her a candidate for bronzing. She is also one of those damn the torpedo kinda gals that just makes you wanna cheer. She's always good for slash and slash is of the good.
kita0610, you are appreciated.
kormantic is the sole person responsible for my addiction to blogs. Yes, it all started with her. She makes me laugh my head off, clutch my ribs and whistle with admiration. She almost never talks about fandom and that's a very welcome change. I'm waiting for her to announce the release of her debut novel. It's destiny, yalls.
kormamtic is warm, snarky, intelligent and utterly delightful. Sweetness, you are adored.
melymbrosia is bright, well-read and did I mention intelligent. Another one of those people who writes post-ep ananlysis and open up an entire range of interpretation. She's got it going on. She also wrote Truly and Forever, one of the creepiest little things ever. It was on my list of re-reads when I was struggling through Yours, Eternally and the sadly lacking Insomnium
melymbrosia, you are appreciated.
minim_calibre is gorgeous. The hair, the eyes. Gah! the eyes. She's also gives good review and, ah, hell, I just really love reading her LJ. She's snarky and fun. She also wrote Anchored, Five Ways to Have a Happy Ending, and Not One of Them True, and Snow White. After all of that how can you not feel the love.
minim_calibre, you are appreciated.
obsessedmuch wrote my second favorite Xander fic, Zen and the Art of the Open Road. Xander is not a character that I feel love for. Lar also loves Riley. Nuff said.
obsessedmuch, you are appreciated.
thawrecka has a way with creating these word images that blow me away; possibility in just a few lines. Imagine, Willow with the world in her teeth. My imagination goes wild over the things like that. Dearling, you are admired.
uhmidont writes Angel, Buffy and Roswell. I read exactly how it never was and I've got a new OTP. Her writing is beautiful. Elizabeth, you are appreciated.
vyra is one of the most talented fanartists ever. I want to be her when I grow up. I'd rank her as my number one favorite. Everything she creates is original and innovative and just gorgeous. She's also mighty friendly and terribly helpful.
vrya, you are admired.
Nio is one of the friendliest people I've ever met through fandom. She's warm, generous and incredibly supportive. She started with really beautiful pieces of fanart in the Xena fandom and now she's consumed with Buffy. Buffydom is lucky to have her. Nio, you are adored.
Linzee is another one of those amazing fanartists that just blow me away. Talented, friendly, supportive, generous AND she makes kickass videos. Linzee, you are appreciated.
heres_luck is someone you can't not mention when discussing vids. She rejuvenated my love for Eliza Dushku as Faith and now I'm stuck in a fangirl crush for both the vidder and the second Slayer. Superstar is what got me started, Atropine and Writing Notes keep me devoted. This chick is genius. I mean, really. She's also like super PhD girl.
heres_luck, you are admired.
Wills began my love for fanart. I came across her site, Surrounded in Beauty, and was hooked. She's fantastic and only gets better. Thank you for the introduction. Sweetness, you are appreciated.
Angelina is another one of those great artists. Fabulous pieces and prolific! Something that every archivist adores. My current desktop is made by her. Angelina, you are appreciated.
lerefuge,Niege; again with the crazy artist creativity. If I could just hone my skills, study hard maybe, maybe, one day I'll be able to produce stuff like this. It's doubtful cause I'm really not that dedicated. Still, she makes me wish I were. Niege, you are admired.
shrift, you've gotta love her if for no other reason than she started the BFA. But then she goes and writes things like Loserville and Convergence and you're stuck with the moonshine eyes. She's got Methos' voice down pat and it's all good.
shrift, you are appreciated.
So, next time you feel down, bummed, angry, pissed off, just remember that you are appreciated, adored and admired. You make procrastination easy and that's always a good thing.
In other news: Anton Sikharulidze needs a haircut and when he does, I think, he should donate it to Kurt Browning. I love Kurt Browning.
