I am totally taken with the dark, angry destructiveness in this vid and how it lays up against those twisted ass lyrics. It's a gorgeously gendered tug-o-war between expectation, actuality, and desire.

Yeah. There's this really weird trend that seems to insist on the lyrics floating across the screen. Personally, I don't care for it. It's distracting and, if the vid is well done, totally unnecessary. It feels like a kind of crutch. Creative insecurity. It's still distracting, though.
