Loved that she was intentionally playing at madness because she wanted to do and be who she wanted to be. Sure it was an off-shoot of protective behavior developed after the night her parents were murdered and she was kidnapped ...
The narrative was a bit fractured, split between Meriel, Dominic, and Dominic's identical twin brother, Kyle. There was also a random 11th hour reveal of Villany that highlight Putney's inability to create narrative tension or implement foreshadowing.
Still, I enjoyed the incorporation of other cultures in a historical romance. It's so often Euro-centric that to have the story heavily graced with touches of India was lovely to read. I could only have wished for more Kamal, and to see more of Kamal and Jena's courtship.
