Date: 2009-08-27 03:45 am (UTC)From:I can't believe that I went either. I almost didn't make it and then I almost didn't survive (well maybe it's not that dramatic). I dislocated my thumb!!!! OMG, J, it was awful and it still hurts and I can't believe that I went on vacation and got INJURED!!! Who DOES THAT?! Me, apparently. Then there was the motion sickness and the mad bouts of clautrophobia that woke me up in the middle of the night all panicked that I was trapped on a boat in the middle of the ocean with NO ESCAPE and what would happen if the ship started to sink and I forgot all the evacuation instructions and there would be NO WHERE TO GO BECAUSE I CAN'T SWIM OMG!!!!
Then by the third day it was all kosher and I had a total ball. At which point I almost broke my thumb.
An adventure, I tell you.

I'm sad you don't know how to swim! It's totally fun!

Date: 2009-09-03 05:52 am (UTC)From:My thumb is getting better. The bones are fine, but the soft tissue seems to be nice and damaged. It's stiff and sore by turns. I try to remember not to overuse it. That's harder than I thought it would be considering its the thumb on my left hand. I never realized how much I use my left hand. This whole experience has been enlightening. Opposable thumbs, who knew?
