List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.

1. I Will Follow You Into the Dark - Death Cab for Cutie
2. Icky Thump - The White Stripes
3. Never Too Late - Three Days Grace
4. Sorry - Buckcherry
5. Psycho - Puddle of Mudd
6. I Will Possess Your Heart - Death Cab for Cutie
7.

I don't have a number seven, can you believe it?!?!?!?

I am so totally cheating on this one, but [livejournal.com profile] moireach asked about what a day in my life is like. It's been exciting on account of Grand Theft Auto, which isn't as much fun as the game. Besides, tales of workplace woes and job hunting and my supreme lameness in the face of career ambitions is SO NOT fun or interesting.

Therefore:

It would be nice if one day in the future, but not too far into the future cause really it needs to happen like now, I could sleep through the night. That would be nice and totally of the good because it would mean that I didn't have bags and splotchy skin and I wouldn't forget to brush my teeth on account of me passing out unexpectedly while I'm PLANNING to do things like pay the electric bill. See how all of that would be of the good? I mean, electricity and healthy teeth, how can you beat that?

Of course, now that I haven't really slept in over a week my body has decided to take matters into her own wee hands and so I conk out at the drop of a hat or a pin. It is disconcerting. But then I wake up suddenly from random, strange nightmares and also at the sound of the garage gate opening or a car starting somewheres in the neighborhood. I am paranoid, yo. I'm also official neighborhood watch girl cause my eyes are glued out the window. Who knows who's lurking out there and what they're getting up to ... I can't promise that I'll catch all the bad guys but with me not sleeping and the window being like right there by the bed, you never can tell. Of course, all the trees in the front yard that totally block the street can kinda make it difficult to see and then there's the whole I leave at 6 in the morning for work thing -- so eventually I do need to go to sleep.

My boss is baffled and waiting for me to fall to pieces because I've been getting to work half an hour early nearly every day because I can't just be awake and chilling at the homestead. I get dressed and then zip out the door to check the rental (and now my car) and since I'm outside I might as well go to work. There's been coffee every morning, yum, and I mean the good stuff from Starbucks and not the crappy office coffee that I usually get because I'm on a budget and always almost barely on time for work. I had to give up the coffee this week because there's blood donation looming on the horizon and I have breast fibroids and sooner or later all that caffeine is going to catch up with me in a so not cute way. In a lop-sided boob type way. *shudders*

In the good news column, however, Betty was found yesterday at 1 in the morning. The LBPD called me that she was parked and driveable about fifteen minutes from my house. It was cuh-razy!!!! She's been sitting in the same spot for over a week, parked and locked and now with two tickets on account of street sweeping. That's how they found her, apparantly. The po-po peered inside and checked the trunk (which was possibly the most nerve wracking thing ever because there really could have been ANYTHING in there and I was so hoping that it wasn't a body), they had even left my portable battery which I bought for 70 bucks so I KNOW that it's worth some cash.

Today we went and had Betty's innards checked by my mechanic and he proclaimed her healthy, whole and untampered with. The punk butt kids who took her made off with my CD wallet, the garage opener and the face of my radio, but not the actual radio and that makes absolutely no sense at all because the face is of NO USE without the radio. All parts are present and accounted for and no one, from the police down to the tire guy, can figure out WHY they stole her in the first place.

I'm very happy that she's home and now that she's been freshly washed and waxed and set-up with two shiny brand new front tires, she's looking pretty slick. The missing radio thing is an annoyance, but easily repaired. I needed to get new speakers installed anyways. Might as well make a clean go of it.

In the grand scheme of things that go wrong and how cars get stolen, the 95 Honda Civic is number one with a bullet, and sometimes number four. They're apparantly very easy to steal. I really wish that someone had told me that. I've got a club strapped across the steering wheel and I'm contemplating other options like alarms and lo-jacks.

On the plus plus, I got to drive a 2008 Honda Civic for an entire week and wasn't that fun!! It's almost a little too much car for me, but it was tricked out with all sorts of bells and whistles and the rental guy upgraded me for free. Too bad it had to go back. I'm driving a gas guzzling white Chevy Cobalt at the moment, it's nice too on account of being brand new and all, but dude ... what's up with the gas mileage. Suck much? It goes back tomorrow because, guess what, omg Betty is HOME!!! and she's all in one piece and not scattered across the countryside in parts or in Mexico.

Anywho, that's the saga of me and my car. I'm being re-imbursed for most of the rental cost by my insurance company and on account of there being no damage, I'm in the clear for anything else. I'm relieved like whoa!!

But seriously, this also doesn't need to happen again. Like ever.
