Oh, children, I am weary! My next door neighbors decided to have a Yay! It's Thursday party this morning at 2 a.m. and my downstairs neighbors decided to join in the fun by blasting music at 2.30. ARGH! WTF! I hate living in apartments. People are so ridiculously inconsiderate. I mean, c'mon, could we at least hold off till Friday night? Some of us have to fucking work in the morning. It was so loud I couldn't even sleep in the living room, my usual haven from neighbor noise. So, I gave up the ghost and watched music videos, loudly, until 3.15, after everyone had quieted down. See how THEY like it.
Grrr!!
King Cretin is back to form. You remember him, my loud, obnoxious co-worker who I'd like to stab in the throat with a fork? Yesterday, he was blessedly subdued on account of being HIGH on CRACK! My counterpart in the cube next to me went to take him paperwork and said that he was unusually incoherent, sluggish and that his pupils were blown wide. Ha! I said that's because he is HIGH!! It was ridiculous. Almost as stupid as the day The Brick came in still wasted from a Super Bowl party. WTF?! I tell you. This guy is so dumb he couldn't find his ass with a map. I still don't know how he manages to retain employment.
There's also excitement in the world.

As of now, it won't affect my trip to Mexico, but I'm not taking any chances on a delay so I've already resolved NOT to pack any liquids in my carry-on beyond eye drops for my contacts. I'm hearing differing accounts about the prohibition, but I believe that currently there is a prohibition on liquids in carry-on's on Trans-Atlantic flights from the U.S. to the U.K.. Flights originating in the U.K. have banned all carry-on's for the moment. We'll see if that will be expanded to encompass all U.S. flights.
I can't imagine that it will hold for long because there are certain liquids that people need to carry. We all remember the breast milk debacle, right? If you're traveling with babies you have to carry food for the baby, it's kind of necessary. It can't be cracked open for testing, especially breast milk, because of the whole sterility issue. Then there are medications. I'm curious to see how this will be resolved. I've been hearing NPR reports that there is machinery that can scan for certain chemical components that indicate potential liquid explosives. That would be of the good, of course. Too bad it took them this long to talk about that particular bit of information. My thoughts are that the technology is really expensive which translates in American-ese as not worth implementing due to cost. We're good at that. If it cuts into the profit margin, scrap it.
Well, on a good note: I'm making headway on the post-NFA, I think. I got lots of thinky-thoughts down last night.
tkp, I'll be emailing you soon! My realization is that I needed to work through his motivations, character, etc. Angel, like Riley, is not very accessible to me and so I'm finding that I've lost track of his impetuous for punishment. I'm working out thoughts.
tkp I read your most recent meta on Angel after I got the majority of my thoughts down, and that helped!
If anyone has recommendations for Angel meta, specifically his character and/or the arc of his character and not a pairing meta, I'd really appreciate a link.
Thanks, my babes! And I hope that your day goes more smoothly than mine is currently progressing. I think today is going to require a second cup of coffee.
ETA: Okay, baby formula and medicines have the all clear. Ladies, make sure there's no nitro in your nipples BEFORE you express.
