A trailer has been released for Peter Jackson's
King Kong.
It looks ... cool.
Somehow the CGI look somewhat unfinished, but otherwise it's terribly promising. It could just be that I'm looking at a CINEMA film on a very small screen. Whatever it is, I'm excited to see this. I love the texture and the very deliberate nature of the set design and cinematography, at least in the initial scenes (New York). It's like We Are Here and This Is A Movie, and then the crew ends up in a weired Strange Land and everything goes to shit, becoming both more and less real than anyone could have imagined. I'm in love with Adrian Brody, as always. Although he really is an unattractive man, too thin and angular for my tastes, there is something very beautiful about him. Something in the softness of his eyes and the shape of his mouth. There is a delicacy in his hands. *shrug* Dunno, really. Anyway, there is no Tom Cruise to be seen, plenty of Jack Black and I don't dislike Naomi Watts. And KONG!!! Hello, huge ape! and dinosaurs!! Whee!
Also!
I came across a post by Dennis Cooper via
barrygraham via Caitlin Kiernan's
Red Moon Journal, and he posted some
tidbits about writing that I am finding useful. Just general and gentle guidlines/rules for writing. Suggestions, really. I happen to like them. So, here go visit.
As it concerns rule #5:
I am going to believe that I am a talented writer. Four writers whom I respect greatly have given positive feedback on fiction written by me. I'm going to attempt to give the self-doubt a rest and go with the flow of good vibes.
Good night, m'dears and sleep tight.
Oh, and if someone wants to give feedback on
A Tale of Heaven, I'd REALLY appreciate it. I like it. I like it a lot, actually. Now, I want to know if you all like it.
ETA: The day of awesome TV continues, cause even though I have to be in bed like RIGHT now, SciFi is showing the pig people episode of Twilight Zone. I think it's called Eye of the Beholder or some such!! Awesome! Awesome, I say.
