It doesn't just rain
Apr. 13th, 2005 09:43 amSo here's the funny part: my car was stolen this morning. It's the perfect ending to a perfect month.
Let's backtrack, shall we?
On March 8th my mother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in her liver and right lungs. Apparantly it is inopperable. She has been give two years. All of March she was in and out of the hospital, we even had to call 911. Her stays were anywhere from four days to a week. Chemo has been rather disasterous. Her next appointment, scheduled for the 18th is a little up in the air since this morning someone thought it would be a great idea to relieve me of my only means of transportation.
I spoke to my brother a couple of weeks ago and although he is being sent home from Cuba at the end of the month, there is a rumor circulating that his unit is going to be sent to Iraq. I wouldn't be surprised considering the trouble that the federal government is having with retention.
Well, it seems that it doesn't rain, but pour and that I can't win for losing. This was supposed to be MY year. The year where I conquered my demons and got back on the straight and narrow. It would seem that up until the last two years my life was way too easy and I've got to pay for it. Someone has got to pay for my previously charmed life. Of course, it would be me.
Now, I'm looking for an inexpensive car and a job closer to home. I can't get to my current job without a car.
There is a 65% chance that I will get my car back, but somehow I really, really, truly doubt it. That would make my life just a little too easy. And somehow I bet that my car insurance doesn't cover theft. I'll bet you.
