I still like how the show depicts types of mothers. I still like how the females characters are in possession of the most power and agency. They manipulate the storyline. The men emote. The women kick ass and take over the world. As it should be.

Hot, kick-ass lady cop? Check. Grizzly, psycho, ex-terrorist guy? Check. Overly emotional padre? Check. Wise-cracking young scientist type? Check and double check.

There's a lot of convenient shenanigans going on in this show. Plot devices are getting thrown all over willy nilly. Need some scientific low down on the Visitors? Here you go, Show. Grad student on a leash just for you. And the hook they used to reel him in? "Join us or we'll kill you." Ahahahahah! I love how this show explicitly aligns the Resistance with terrorism.

So, now the Resistance has a boy genius AND he comes complete with a sooper sekrit high-tech lab. Boy, I bet Juliet Parrish is cursing TPTB back in the day. All they gave her was a sewer and a Hollywood studio ranch, and then a light house. How underfunded!

Although Anna's green lizard tail of vengeance was cheesy as all Hell, I loved that we get to see her struggle with her identity. Killing off the last six of your surviving children wasn't easy. I'm curious about this idea that the Skins can "infect" the V's with humanity. Obviously there is more going on then just the masquerade that was so key in the original series. The phosphorous plot makes me wonder how the V's are being changed along with the humans, and why it's necessary. A dying planet sent the V's across the universe in search of better climes in the original, is the same true here? Is this an adapt or die kind of scenario? How is human DNA expected to save the V's?

From what I understand, increased phosphorus levels in humans can cause heart disease. That explains Val. Increasing the phosphorus levels in humans doesn't make sense because you're creating breeding stock, but you're also potentially reducing the life expectancy of said stock. Oh, what a tangled web we weave!

"for breeding"

You say it like you're all surprised. Tell me that I'm not the only one who saw that coming a mile away. Anna's obsession with Tyler and Lisa, her interest in Val and Ryan's baby. The little hybrid alien baby floating in a giant TEST TUBE! WTF. I don't know how I feel about the baby being all lizard-like. I'm channeling Elizabeth and her creepy ass hybrid skillz which included things like eating raw meat, exponential growth, and shedding her skin every few days.

I'm beginning to like Lisa and that is a surprise. She's seems much more real and complex than Tyler. And boy was that not the lease sexy sex scene you've ever seen.

Lisa: Oh, btw, I missed you.

Tyler: Me, too. I thought your hot alien self might not want to be with me.

Lisa: *pops buttons and drops trou*

I suppose that Tyler being a teenage boy and all, I really couldn't expect more.

Then Anna killed her leftover warrior babies and beamed down to the basement of the mothership. Hello Star Trek.

And Helloooooo Diana!
