[livejournal.com profile] tkp listed her favorite sexy voices and because I am shameless I am gakking the post and listing mine. It was harder than I thought it would be if we’re not including people with great voices because they have great accents. Cause otherwise I could include Christian Bale, Olivier Martinez, Michael Fassbender, and Jonathan Rhys Meyer. I managed to come up with forty without straining my brain too hard, after that … well …

1. Vincent – Ron Perlman, Beauty and the Beast
2. Navarre – Rugter Hauer, Ladyhawke
3. Top Dollar – Micheal Wincott, The Crow (and of course anything he’s ever had a speaking part in: Robin Hood, Alien Resurrection, etc)
4. Goliath – Keith David, Gargoyles (and because I love his tortured soul with that lovely voice, Spawn)
5. Jessica Rabbit – Kathleen Turner, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (among other things including Romancing the Stone and Body Heat)
6. Riddick – Vin Diesel, Pitch Black
7. Othello – Laurence Fishburne, Othello
8. Aaron – William Fichtner, Passion of Mind
9. John Murdoch – Rufus Sewell, Dark City
10. James Bond – Timothy Dalton, License to Kill
11. Captain Bill – Johnny Messner, Anacondas: Hunt for the Blood Orchid
12. Frank Castle – Thomas Jane, The Punisher
13. Virgil Brigman – Ed Harris, The Abyss
14. Schatze Page – Lauren Bacall, How to Marry A Millionaire
15. Jean Luc Picard – Patrick Stewart, Star Trek: TNG
16. Aeryn Sun – Claudia Black, Farscape
17. Aragorn – Viggo Mortensen, Lord of the Rings
18. The Phantom – Gerard Butler, Phantom of the Opera
19. Hawk – Avery Brooks, Spencer for Hire
20. Tracy Lords – Katherine Hepburn, The Philadelphia Story
21. Wolverine – Hugh Jackman, the XMen Movies
22. Gregory House – Hugh Laurie, House
23. Superman – Christopher Reeve, Superman (note that I didn’t say Clark Kent because so different)
24. Christie – Gary Dourdan, Alien Resurrection
25. Liam Neeson – and I really can’t pick just one!!! (He’s going low on the list because I think a LOT of his vocal appeal is in the accent)
26. Margo Channing – Bette Davis, All About Eve (the husky cadence!!)
27. Indiana Jones – Harrison Ford, the Indiana Jones movies (and this counts, possibly only for the first two. Other than that don’t care)
28. Deanna Troi – Marina Sirtis, Star Trek: TNG
29. Ilsa – Ingrid Bergman, Casablanca
30. Holand – Crispi n Freeman, Eureka 7 (see no. 28)
31. Sesshomaru – David Kaye, InuYasha (I know it’s anime, but still, we’re talking about voices, right?!)
32. Galadriel – Cate Blanchett, Lord of the Rings
33. The Collector – Billy Zane, Demon Knight
34. Max Evans – Jason Behr, Roswell (TV
35. Jack Baker – Jeff Bridges, The Fabulous Baker Boys
36. Marti – Demi Moore, Passion of Mind
37. Nick Vanzant -- James Spader, Supernova
38. Kathryn Janeway – Kate Mulgrew, Star Trek: Voyager
39. Elaine – Priscilla Lane, Arsenic and Old Lace (I don’t know why I love her voice so much.)
40. Joe Dubois – Jake Weber, Medium (because I love the way that he says her name. There’s something in the pitch and cadence that I adore)

ETA: Cause I am a COMPLETE dumb ass and because I haven't hit 50 yet. I am adding in Clancy Brown, cause OMG!! Clancy Brown. How could I forget him. Let's stick him between ... Timothy Dalton and Johnny Messner, I think. Whoa! There's a man sandwich *I'd* like to get in the middle of.

ETA: Clancy Brown as ... John Danziger in Earth 2. How 'bout them apples.

Eeee! I'm so glad you did this! I was sekritly hoping everyone would bust out with them so I could check out other voices.

I don't think I knew you watched Gargoyles. Before BtVS/AtS Gargoyles and BatB were my All Time Favorite Shows and I thought nothing would ever beat them. Except for that weird stint where I was completely obsessed with Gilmore Girls for like 5 months and then completely stopped watching it.

I've seen Ladyhawke but don't remember the guy's voice.

Didn't know Micheal Wincott was in The Crow. I don't remember who this person is: Christie – Gary Dourdan, Alien Resurrection, but it's so weird there were so many Voices in Alien Resurrection. 'Cause with Wincott and also Perlman. Also, Winon Ryder has a very unique voice; I just don't think hers is sexy.

I can't believe I forgot Jessica Rabbit. First woman's voice I ever thought was *really* sexy, and I still do. Hey, I don't know what kinda music you listen to, but have you heard of Jill Tracy?

I also would've liked to've put Vin Deisel (zomg) and Laurence Fishburne on there. Also probably Ed Harris.

It's funny you put Galadriel, Katherine Hepburn, James Spader and Indiana Jones on there--I thought of all three of those but then decided that while I found the former two interesting, they weren't sexy. The latter two I just decided was too smooth.

Liam Neeson: I honestly believe it's not the accent because he does some things with less of an accent or tries to do no accent (he's not very good at it) and ZEE OH EM GEE. He just does this gutteral thing that's all guh and it makes me want my bunk.

I don't know who some of these people are. I am tickled by how many actresses/actors are the same on ours, though.

Oh yay! Vincent *and* Navarre! ::faints::

Now of course I have no clue what their voices were like, but man were they major, major crushes of mine. Still are ... ::dies a little death at the memories::

Kathleen Turner! Definately. William Hurt didn't have a chance in "Body Heat" as soon as she opened her mouth.

I LOVE listening to people's voices

Me too. I have a voice fetish. I'm never attracted to the way a man looks at-first-sight, but voices can totally do me in at-first-hear. Never heard Beckham speak; that's too bad.

after Goliath and Eliza *finally* kinda got together

!!They did? I never got to see the later shows (school was at the wrong time) and I never catch reruns 'cause I don't have the Disney channel. I'm buying the dvds, though, as soon as I recover from buying a new laptop.

I love the concept of Ladyhawke but I remember being a little disappointed in the execution. It should've been a tv series, I think.

Oh! CSI guy! I forgot he was in Alien Res! Yeah, he does have a great voice. And great eyes. And great skin. And great hands. I like to gay him all up when I watch CSI.

If you feel comfortable giving me your address, I'll burn Jill Tracy for you. Her appeal is twofold: 1. sounds kinda like Jessica Rabbit, 2. WHAT she sings is exactly what Drusilla would sing. If Drusilla, you know, sang anything but creepy lullabys and nursery rhymes.

Something about the *way* she says her lines, the way her mouth moves in addition to the actual sound of her voice that I just love.

Yeah, it's amazing, in the end, how difficult it is to separate voice/accent/delivery/character. Same with appearance too though, for me. I tend to be way more into a delivery I like than the way an actor looks.

And I love when he has to be all choked up or emotional

I know! I feel kinda bad because the end of Schindler's List, where he's breaking down 'cause he could've saved more, is so meaningful and powerful and yeah, and all I can think is: ZOMG he's so hot.

Johnny Messner

I'll have to rent it, just for him.

Oh, no, spoilers for Gargoyles is ok :o) They don't have the 3rd season on dvd anyway, from what I can tell, so I'll probably go looking for spoilers.

Ladyhawke has the worst soundtrack of any movie in existence, imo. I read something somewhere once that there was a dvd release of it with an alternate soundtrack. I forgot Broderick was in it.

I must here restate my opinion that Tom Welling looks like a barn silo filled with nothing but grain. Diggs is pretty hot but I have no instant lust. I'm trying to think of *any* actor I've had intant lust for, and can't seem to.

I dunno. young!Al Pacino in The Godfather is pretty hot. Especially at the end when he's all scary. *especially* if he was bending Robert Duvall's character over a desk. 0_o

Yeah, he's just...unattractive to me. Which is weird, because in general, I love a big pair of shoulders.

Smaller, slighter men *always* look better bent over a desk.
