It's a Hot Time on the Cold Town Tonight

There's all kinds of neat and interesting things happening out there in LJ-land, perhaps the neatest and most interesting being the wacky wonder of the Harry Potter Dance Troupe currently showcased over at dafnap's. OMG, so awesome.

Then we have ficathons galore. Of course, I've sworn off ficathons since my brain was last broken by the Jesse/Spike pairing for the Night They Never Met ficathon, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't indulge. There's lots out there to choose from, but I'm most interested in seeing the results for the following:

The Happy Endings ficathon hosted by southernbangel. (I'm acutally tempted to sign-up for this just to see if I could actually pull off a story with a happily ever after. Of course, I would also be running the risk of completely shutting down my brain forever and all time.)

You’re just doing this to get fics about boys having sex in kilts, aren’t you? is the accusation currently being levelled at entrenous88 for hosting the AtS/BtVS Scottish Ficathon. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with boys having sex in kilts. It's conveninet and we get to see their cute knees.

Scatterlings and Orphanages: The Africander Ficathon is being hosted by ludditerobot. Everything must take place in an African country. There's a list to choose from and it's seems to be mostly taken up. I love when fandom gets all creative with the fic ideas, and here is a great idea. I can't wait to see what results!!

jennyo's Female Character Gen Ficathon is another fiacathon that I'm tempted to sign-up for, if for no other reason than that this where all of the cool kids seem to be playing. Alas, I am much too sensible to sign-up for another ficathon. I'll just watch from the sidelines. We've got some really great writers taking part AND it's a multifandom challenge, so it's bound to be a resounding success, providing a plethora of quality fic for my reading pleasure. I can't be mad at that.


So go sign-up and go watch at the vids at dafnap's. It's a swinging good time all the way around.
