Whoa! That's a hard one because I never really thought past that particular story. It's all about resignation and dealing with the mess you've created.
However, for you:
Afterwards: Yours, Eternally
They found her behind the dumpster at The Doublemeat Palace with her hands buried nearly to the elbows in the belly of a child. How she got so far from home, no one knows. Beautifully blonde, Dawn remembered that his name was Pete.
“He liked cotton candy,” she murmured.
"Red, red, red," Joyce sang, her face smeared red.
Willow magicked the stains away and Spike wrestled Joyce to the ground. Together, they buried the body in the woods.
Into the basement they later went. Dawn avoided her mother’s eyes, hurt by the click of the key in the manacle lock.
I can see the life of the characters just spiralling continually downward. Everyone is completely unwilling to do what's necessary and take her out, meanwhile, as time passes, Joyce continues to degrade.
I'm so tempted to gack this meme but I just know that someone would ask me what happened after one of the stories I can't see past the end of.
Do it! Do it!!
I was originally planning to write everyone a drabble for their request, but I'm actually planning a third part to that particular story arc. I had so much trouble getting it started after finishing Hemorrhage that I put it aside. I'll be getting back to it, hopefully by the new year. It's supposed to be all about healing and what not, but we all know how I get with happily ever after. So, it remains to be seen.
But, in a nutshell (i.e. the plot for part 3):
Dawn and Xander are released by the hospital into the care of our favorite brooding vampire. Xander's on suicide watch and Dawn is climbing her way out of depression and maybe, a little insanity. I'm planning it to be Xander/Cordelia and maybe Angel/Dawn, although I had also considered Angel/Connor.
Afterwards: After the End of the World
She made the call three times. The first time she borrowed a quarter from one of the visitors littering the hallway. The last two times she called collect. Gave the operator the number and both times, she hung up after the first ring.
The thrid time she clung to hold onto the phone as Cordelia’s voice chirped from an answering machine: “Angel Investigations. We help the helpless.”
“Angel,” Dawn tearfully whispered. “Please, come and get us.” Her hands shook, and the phone fell to the floor.
That is so cool! I can't wait for the next part. (Did I ever fb you about how much I love TWS/Hemmorhage? Because those stories rock so very much. As does everything you write.)
You have similar problems with the happily ever afters as I do.

A nurse laid a gentle hand on Dawn’s shoulder.
“It’s time for your meds.”
