Personally, I always feel the need to explain. Explain what? I hardly know. But, there it is, this driving need to say: oh, thank you. my eyes are not this color, they're contacts. or glad you like the story, i was really hoping to convey buffy's deep and abiding hatred of pound puppies.
What is that all about?

I can't see worth spit so I wear glasses or contacts. My most recent contact perscription was the same for both eyes, which almost NEVER happens, so I got the chance to buy a box of clear and a box of gray. Since I wear the clear more often I ran out of those before I ran out of the gray. So, I've just popped in my last pair of gray contacts. I'm actually excited to buy clear again. Gray is fun, but I miss me brown eyes.
It's actually a strange phenomena. I dyed my hair a reddish brown once and after a month or so, I was really ready to dye it back to black. I totally missed it. Lesson learned from the experience? I am a streaks kinda girl and not the all over type.
Now, what I'd like to know is how does dio respond to compliments?

Gee, it must've been awhile since this came up, because I can't think of a specific example ...
If it's a stranger or acquaintance or casual friend, I probably just say "Thank you" or some variation. I don't think I brush it off, but I might minimize it by saying "oh, only a little bit" or "I try" or something like that. Not always -- I usually just thank them.
Closer friends, I probably make some goofy remark that makes them laugh. Although, if I'm in a down mood, I'll say how horrible and disgusting I really am and unworthy of their regard, and they'll tell me my brain is broken and they love me anyway. Erm ... you know. It all depends.
