Dude! I wish I had written *that* story. Whoa. :D But see, again, that's what I love about feedback. Dialogue. The way that different people read the same story. I *really* probably need to join a book club or something. Although, I do agree with you. Buffy is damaged goods. Totally. Even before Bargaining. Another point by which the show failed. Although, I get that part of the reason that she was 'wrong' is what led to the First Evil returning in Season Seven, I would have liked a little more detail as to *how* she was wrong. Why more demon now than she was at the end of The Gift?
Tale of Heaven is, however, very much about her alone-ness and her defiance. How being what she is, and having been as she is for so long, has changed all the rules for her. She'll never *fit* anywhere and, I think, that by the end of Season Seven she really doesn't care. Except, of course, according to how it will affect her place among her very specific group of friends, her created family. Lies That My Parents Told Me and Empty Places, kinda solidified that for me. Hence Joyce is the only thing in Heaven that she cares about and damn everyone else. But that's enough self-analysis. I'm starting to feel self-conscious.
