TV: SHIELD 1.3 - The Asset
Oct. 8th, 2013 09:04 pmStill waiting for the Stride. Maybe because it's Joss, I'm taking it for granted that it should have happened already. Although, this group is very different from, say, the Firefly crew. They are the opposite. These people are not family. They are about as far apart as you can get without somebody being evil, and who knows because we've got plenty of time for that.
I really wish I liked this show more. That said, I finally liked Skye in this episode. Still don't care for Agent Strong Jaw. More Melinda May is a good thing. Coulson being super bad ass is . . . interesting. I get it that they want to give him A Past and make him Darker. We'll see if the duality can be made compelling.
Totally saw that ending coming from a country mile away.
Also, based on the teaser for the next episode (1.4 Eye-Spy) I have a question. Are all the ethnic people on this show peripheral bad asses? May, Fury, Mike Peterson (J. August Richards from ep 1), Camilla Reyes (Leonor Varela from ep 2), now the Rouge Spy from upcoming ep 4. They're not main characters, but they're all dangerous in some way. And so far, with the exception of May and Fury, some version of villain.
