seraphcelene: (books)
Delicate and haunting, Home is a very sweet read. Toni Morrison is usually very dense, but she doesn't pack Home too tightly. It's the heartbreaking tale about growing up and finding yourself in the most unlikely of places, but how sometimes you really do just need to go home. Although the ending was too neat, and too easily resolved given the main points of narrative tension, I found the novella a lovely read. It is a near perfect slice of life.
