Golden Globes 05 (general and most random thoughts)

I am pleasured, for sure:

HUGH LAURIE! Best Actor (TV Drama) for House
SANDRA OH! Best Supporting Actress (TV) for Grey's Anatomy
BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN! Best Picture (Drama)
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES! Best Series (Musical or Comedy)
FELICITY HUFFMAN! Best Actress (Motion Picture Drama) for TransAmerica

Sandra Oh gave the best speech of the night. Loved her excitement. It's neat to see someone actually thrilled to have won an award.

Mariah Carey is NOT cute. She has no lips. But damn can that woman sing.

Natalie Portman is gorgeous with short hair and my favorite gown of the night was a toss-up between Emma Thompson's, Teri Hatcher's and Eva Longoria's. Although the whole fishtail gown was an awful idea and nearly every woman wore one.

Yay for Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin!!

I also watched (and enjoyed) the GGs last night. Drew Barrymore's dress was a bit of a disaster- but some of the speeches were hysterical including Sandra Oh's, Hugh Laurie's and Steve Carrell (sp?). A lot less fussy than the Academy Awards and they jump right in to the awards, too.

I agree! Drew Barrymore's dress was the most awful and I kept thinking why didn't you do something with your hair. I really liked the way the show opened with Queen Latifah, although the audience seemed to have zero energy at times. And Yay for Hugh Laurie. I loved that paper bit gag and the accent! Yay for his real accent! *squee* I know fangirling way too much on him. :)
