I had a whole discussion to go along with this but then LJ ate it.

The gist was that I keep my private and professional lives very separate because they don't NEED to intersect. LJ is a place to vent and sometimes I need that, although not often. I need to be able to say whatever the hell I want without fear that someone at my job will take offense.

So, just curious. How do you blog?

Oh, and what was up with the scrolling scenery in the opening sequence of Bones? The part where they were driving and it was like a 1950's movie with the landscape whipping by but it was very obviously not the same scenery that our heroes are occupying.

I have never ranted about work on LJ, but I think that if I felt I needed to, and I worked for a freaky employer, I'd either just f-lock it, or make it completely private. I guess I can journal privately and still vent properly. I wonder if I also prefer that. I'm a very private person, and I don't want the entire world to have access to my mind.

So how was Bones? Didn't get a chance to see it, but the previews looked interesting ...

See, exactly!! The whole world doesn't REALLY need to know everything! I mean if your area of industry is computer oriented I could see how, potenially, you'd give out the information, but then wouldn't you just kind seperate the public from the private? Maybe have two lj's. I know people who do it that way and then, of course, with the friend's lock.

As for Bones ... It couldn't have been that interesting becaue I only barely paid attention. It just jumped out at me that the scenery beyond the windows of the car didn't match with the quality of the car's interior. ie poorly done green screen effects. Sad, really. But David was all pretty and manly looking. He had some intense moments where he was all broody, but I get the feeling that he'll be a much lighter character than Angel which is good. I'd like to divorce him from Angel and that can be difficult for actors so closely associated with a character. I get why SMG takes so long to jump back into the movie world. Although, I think she made a great choice by doing The Grudge. I never once thought, oh, Buffy in Japan. AND she got to make out with Jason Behr. YUM!

Hee! I figured it out.

I swear, some people are just obsessed with plastering themselves all over the internet, trying to get some sort of recognition or validation. I like to do my venting in private, or only to certain good folk.

Bones: of course David is pretty and manly. He'd have to try very hard not to be. But I am glad the character is different from Angel. Being typecast sucks. In college, I was typecast a bit, as a "character actor", and it only really worked in my favor when I was cast as Squeaky Fromme in Assasins. I was only cast in leading roles outside of school.

How I blog is uh ... by not blogging, obviously. *sigh*

I guess I'm picky about what I post, and I haven't had the time or energy to come up with entertaining posts for a long time. I like being goofy. If I'm really unhappy I generally can't even bring myself to talk about it to close friends until I can bring some distance & perspective to it. And if I'm just upset or angry, I don't usually want to write about that for public consumption either. If I could find the time to blog more about life, I'd probably f-lock most everything. As for work, I tend to leave it at the office.

Anyway, I guess the way I like to blog is cheerfully and not ranty or overly personal. Wish I had more time for that. And for reading fic, too. <:\
