I have to tell you again, I really love this. It's so creepy and chilling and beautiful and haunting, and I keep getting flashes of it when I'm not expecting to ... just walking around, going about my business, and I'll have a mental vision from this ficlet.

Your stories do have this effect on me quite often. They make me shudder ... and they embed themselves into my brain.
