I know, I'm *so* wrong

How much do I love the Pacific Northwest 1986 adaptation of the Nutcracker?! It just doesn't get much better than this.

Godfather Drosselmeyer is a lunatic pedophile toymaker with the hots for skittish Clara. Her 14-year old libido is all confused, poor dear, and she alternately adores and fears him.

Besides, the Nutcracker Prince is just a pompous prick with a stick up his ass. No pun intended.

The PNB production of The Nutcracker is really quite wonderful in the stage version. Now I want to see the filmed version to see if it was as splendid as my ancient memories from the mid-80s shows I went to would suggest.

The sets are wonderful. Just mindblowing.

And in search of pictures to refresh my memory, I found an article.

Hmm. I'm filled with an urge to see if there are still seats available for any shows, as I think I saw it last in 1985.
