So, sometime between 5.45pm yesterday and 6.10am today someone stole my car. I don't even know what to say to that except why? Why take something that doesn't belong to you? Why?

I can't believe that someone stole your car! Do the police say what your chances of getting it back in one piece are?

Basically, it comes down to motive. If they wanted it for parts and if there's an undiscovered chop shop in the area then I will never see my car again. If they took it for a joy ride then it should turn up within a week or two. Once it's out of gas, typically it gets abandoned and will sit somewhere for awhile until a resident of the neighborhood reports it or, I assume, the meter maids put enough tickets on it and run the plates.

So, basically, really -- no one knows.

Gods ... Nearly all of my burned CD's were in there which also totally sucks. I haven't even thought about what was in there because I'm not sleeping too well at night as it is just thinking about my car being gone. I keep replaying the moment when I walked downstairs to an empty parking spot. It's ridiculous!!!

Once I sort out everything, I may come a-searching for the missing music. Thanks for offering. I really do appreciate it!

More like perfectly natural. Sad to say I'm speaking from experience, but just hang in there -- there's not much you'll be able to do for the instant (unwanted) replays and sleepless nights for awhile :(

Augh! I'm so sorry! I hope you get it back. My sister's truck was stolen once and she *did* get it back, so I'm crossing my fingers for you!

This is the second time that my car has been stolen. The first time I got it back by the end of the day. I'm not holding alot of hope out this time because whoever did it knew what they were doing. The lock was popped and the car hot wired. The police say that depending on why it was stolen would determine if I got it back. Typically, they said, it's found in a week or two. It's been missing for four days already. It could be anywhere and that is what drives me crazy. There's nothing I can do to go look for it because it could, literally, be anywhere.

In the meantime, I'm focusing on my insurance paying out the value on the car so that I can get a replacement. I can't wait and hope that it's found. I'd drive myself crazy doing that. So, Monday I'll call the adjustor again.

I have full coverage. I'm still waiting for the adjuster to call me back. Everyone says it should cover the car, but with insurance, I'm learning, that you never can tell. Experience seems to be the only method for picking these things up.
