So … Drama.

I'm off-line for a couple of days and the Apocalypse looms. Nice going, LJ. I hope fandom isn't planning to make a run for all available exits because I like my little corner of LJ, despite the panic and "over reaction to a small but well publicized group's attempts to remove content they don't like" (thanks, D).

Now, I need to know … what's GeneralJournal and should I be getting one? How are we archiving our LJ's? Straight to your hard drive or is there someplace else in the ether? HOW do you archive your LJ?

Point me to answers, kids!

Deleted previous comment, corrected version below:

Here are the archiving links I've found:

LJ Book (http://www.ljbook.com/) (the one kormantic recommended)
LJ Archive (http://fawx.com/software/ljarchive) (this is the same one tkp recommended; this link goes directly to the archiving tool area)
LJ Dump (http://hewgill.com/software/ljdump/)

I have no idea how they perform. I think LJ Book and SourceForge LJ Archive look the best. I've never used anything similar, so I'd go by friend recommendations.

Oh, someone else gave me another archiving tool link ~ she downloads her LJ every few months using it and really likes it. Check my LJ 'cos I have the link there.

ALSO! I have figured out a solution to my dilemma over saving the Memories (because these tools don't appear to do that for you) ~ and when I have my break or lunch today I'm going to post about that.

Why don't you have any net access at home?

And yes, poor Betty. Hope that gets fixed properly and you aren't too poor afterwards!
