I Love You, Janet Jackson
HI!!! Remember me?!Of course you do. The semester is over. YAY! I will write about it later, but for now I am thinking some things ...
Am I just too new or what?! Here I think that I'm all sophisticated and in-the-know, and yet it took me five, count 'em five, years to realize that Janet Jackson's Feedback is all about Sex with a capital S and topped with the big O. Not that I didn't just get it, but the fact that I hadn't really paid attention to the lyrics definitely contributed. I was way too busy sweating like a mo-fo to that awesome phat beat, yo! And then one day I realized exactly what feedback was. Dude, seriously? Slow. So slow.
And while we're thinking about sexy over-40 pop divas, J.Lo, although I love you and think you're awesome and sexy and totally dig your rad ass-shaking club tunes, you have GOT to lose the diamond spider catsuit and five inch heels. It is NOT flattering. Plus you look like you're all off-balance and I, along with the rest of the world, know that you can totally bust a move. Yet, in those shoes and that outfit in that video? You are totally leaning your ass against the wall to keep from falling over, aren't you. I know. I can tell. Don't do it. Nothing is hotter or sexier than a gal with a bomb ass figure who knows how to shake her groove thang. See Beyonce if you need reference.

Then there's the upcoming Fall season. Not that I'm trying to rush through summer or anything, but considering that the past couple of seasons have been full of reality crap, I'm pretty excited for real, like, scripted television.
Terra Nova - It's like Land of the Lost meets Earth 2. Although I am a little iffy on the subject of traveling *back* in time to populate the Earth before it got ruined, I LOVED Earth 2. Possibly the only thing that would make the idea of this show better is a side of Clancy Brown. Yum.
The Playboy Club - Despite the fact that this show is riding all over the coat tails of Mad Men, I might check it out if for no other reason than that Sean Maher is in the pilot. I do not forsee sticking with it.
The Secret Circle - Oh, TV, how you love to try and catch lightening in a bottle, repeatedly. Continuing the trend in YA supernatural romance books turned TV shows, The Secret Circle follows in the footsteps of The Vampire Diaries that was itself a casualty of the Twilight craze. (I have heard that The Vampire Diaries got way better after the first three episodes that I bothered to watch. Alas, I never looked back.) I'm willing to check in, although I can't say how excited I am about it. I didn't read the books and then there's the added distraction of Thomas Dekker who kinda ruined John Connor (as much as I loved everything else about TSCC, he was definitely not the business).
Grimm - Possibly the premiere that I'm looking forward to the most. OMG! Right up my alley, dontcha know. SO EXCITED! David Greenwalt? Get outta here. I am THERE. Now, Once Upon a Time is lower on the list of things to watch, seems like it will be a little too cliched. BUT it might hit that Charmed note and keep me interested at least through the first season. Assuming it makes it through a first season.
Ringer - Is there anything that I really need to say? SMG. I'm willing to try.
Falling Skies - Alien apocalypse and Noah Wylie. 'Nuff said.
Young, Broke, and Beautiful - I have had it with travel shows about eating. I am not a foodie. I want to go places, see stuff, and do things. And while I'm there I will more than likely subsist on cheese, bread and oranges. In other words, I miss Samantha Brown, if you can believe it.
Bedlam - BBC America continuing to bring the awesome. Plus Outcasts. Did I mention how much I loved Earth 2?
State of Georgia - Raven Symone and Majandra Delfino. I refuse to justify my love.
I feel as if my cup runneth over. I've been all about the kdrama, but I may actually have to make time for American TV. How novel. So, what are YOU excited to see next season?
