Possibly one of the best vids ever. Gorgeous, haunting, and meta-tastic. laurashapiro's Stay Awake knocks me flat. Stay Awake beautifully considers the appropriation of female bodies and acts of reproduction (as event and terrorism) in this vid and it is, indeed, a thing of wonder. Makes me want to write an essay or something. The music is perfectly spare, restrained, and plays beautifully against the horror inspired by the accompanying visuals. Just gorgeous. Get thee hence and watch.
